This year I was invited by Lexus Spain to Madrid, to experience Arco (the art fair) during Madrid Art week. Lexus does invite me often to events, as part of their art program where they support artists and look for creative ways to document their events. We join in these events with the task of creating content that can reflect on the experiences they are creating.
Most of this invitations come in the form of an email, with location, time and venue, but are presented merely as information on a list. I do miss the graphic side of them, like in the 90s when everything was printed and exchanged physically. So, as a response, I have been working on developing a graphic element for these events, to draw back to the act of inviting and the formality of an invitation.
I have not only created a digital / printable version, but I did also use the vector file to create a cut out version that evolved into a little landmark itself. A paper cut version is a more sophisticated element that can also be used as an invitation, and if evolved, it could also become a keepsake or souvenir of the event.
