This page is dedicated to document a new side of my practice that I am developing with paper. For this occasion I am collaborating with OMG Florence! and we are creating a series of experiences where we are researching how paper as a material can adapt and become useful in different creative disciplines. We created a workshop as an opportunity to explore paper and its different characteristics, strengths, limits and potential applications. The workshop explores different uses of paper as a 3D form. Paper will transform from the 2D surface trough simple techniques that involve cutting, folding assembling or gluing. |
LearnThe Paper Workshop opens the door to the “Paper World” by providing new insights and perspectives on this generous material and its multiple applications in different fields and professions.
|
CreateThrough experimentation, repetition and evolution of basic techniques, participants will be able to learn a new approach to draft proposals, build models, prototypes or even create their own finished pieces.

For me as a designer and artist it is important to be able to understand the process of the things that I am creating. This is the reason why the act of making is fundamental in my practice.
I have found in paper a great material because it is relatively easy to transform and to handle, allowing me to explore not only bidimensional but tridimensional ideas. I use paper as a material to bring ideas to reality because I like to confront my thoughts in a more realistic and direct way. Paper is a very old medium that has been documenting different types of information and in my practice it is an active medium that records processes as well as present final ideas. The idea behind this workshop is to invite creatives to come an explore paper. By sharing my knowledge I can guide participants from the most simple to the most complicated, always aiming to develop concrete proposals with a purpose. Some of the fields we are exploring are design, fashion, jewelry, packaging and more. Different proposals based on folding and gluing circles.

Work in progress.
The next series of images are part of the documentation of the first workshop that took place in Florence, Italy this past 8 - 9 October (2016)
Some prototypes of basic volumes that combined can compose different objects.
Some results and samples of the excersices.
Cutting and putting together some volumes.
Preparing the proposals.
Examples.
The next series of images are the results of the work of the first group of participants that came to the paper workshop. It was very interesting to see how they explored paper as a material, it was also inspiring and exciting to see them working in these proposals. These examples present different possibilities that can result from working with paper, ass well as how simple shapes can be combined to create specific objects.
